The combination of new technologies, such as 3D printing, and the traditional textile sector opens up many opportunities for product development. Individual design and functionalization of textiles using 3D printing are the first interesting applications.
To explore these possibilities the Textile Research Institute Thüringen-Vogtland e. V. (TITV), Greiz/Germany, in cooperation with Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbH Obertshausen/Germany, will host a workshop entitled “Additive manufacturing for the textile industry”. After its great success last year, the event will be held for the second time on May 13, 2019 in Obertshausen. 9 speakers from research and practice will highlight the topic of additive manufacturing.
