Prof. Steve Fletcher, a respected marine pollution expert, has been appointed to the Advisory Board of Aquapak, a leading technology company specializing in high-performance, environmentally responsible polymers.
Fletcher, a key player in efforts to combat plastic pollution, will bring valuable insight to the company from his post at the University of Portsmouth/UK as Professor of Ocean Policy and Economy, and directorship roles at Revolution Plastics, the pan-university mission-driven research initiative to help end plastic pollution, and the Global Plastics Policy Centre of the University of Portsmouth.
As Aquapak Polymers Ltd., Birmingham/UK, continues to innovatively respond to global plastic pollution challenges by developing multiple applications for its Hydropol polymer technology, Fletcher's appointment marks a significant step in their dedication to create marine-safe, biodegradable, recyclable polymers in the UK. These products are completely biodegrade without leaving behind any harmful plastic residue or environmental damage.

In addition to increasing recycling possibilities and reducing plastic pollution, Hydropol also enhances product designs by adding strength and barriers when coated onto paper. This results in products that resist oxygen, oil and grease, facilitating 100% paper fiber recovery during the recycling process.
