The nonwovens manufacturer Sandler AG, Schwarzenbach a.d. Saale/Germany, has broken ground on the expansion of its plant Sandler Nonwoven Corp. in Perry, GA/USA.
To the northwest of the existing building, preparations are underway for the construction of a 135,000 ft² (approx. 12,500 m²) building that is to house production and warehouse facilities. In this extension building, installation of a new manufacturing line for nonwovens for hygiene applications will commence early in 2020. The start of production is scheduled for autumn 2020. All in all, this investment will create 70 new jobs in different departments at the Perry site.
The expansion of the US site is part of a new series of investments Sandler announced on occasion of its 140th company anniversary earlier this year. Over the next 2 years, Sandler plans to invest a total of €80 million at the company headquarters in Germany as well as in the USA.
